This is possible through the identification & evaluation of users. It is more than gathering functional requests from business stakeholders, but rather a combination of interviews, observations & field studies. This is a process by which we identify the 3W’s (the ‘WHO’, ‘WHAT’ and the ‘WHY’) to establish personas and utilize them as our guiding light.
By using a goal-oriented design philosophy we begin to establish an understanding of needs, behaviors, tasks and, ultimately, requirements.
PERSONAS CAN BE DESCRIBED AS USER MODELS DEPICTING BEHAVIORS, CHALLENGES, MOTIVATIONS AND DESIRES. OUR USER ANALYSIS PROCESS ALSO CONSISTS OF THE EVALUATION OF USER FLOWS, TASKS & PROCESSES. BY THE TIME INTERACTION DESIGN IS INITIATED WE HAVE A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF THE 3W’S AND CAN BEGIN CRAFTING THE SKELETAL STRUCTURE OF THE APPLICATION OR WEBSITE.
